These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to AKTASHIF (“Programme”) as described in detail below. This programme is being handled by Bone Education an agency registered in UAE having its registration number as( ADD the number ( “Bone Education”).
These Terms shall apply between Canon Middle East ("Organizer"), located at Dubai Internet City, Canon Building, P.O. Box: 500 007, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Registration Number 19327and You, the entrant of the Programme (“You”, “Your”).
By submitting Your personal details to participate in this programme, you agree that You have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
1. PROGRAMME AND PROGRAMME ENTRY
1.1 This is a programme to win 15,000 UAE Dirham cash prize, 10,000 UAE worth of Canon equipment and subscription to a regional business incubator, as described in details in the PRIZE section of these Terms and Conditions.
1.2 This programme is open to all residents of Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, Qatar, Kuwait, (“Territories”) aged 18 years or over. The agencies or anyone professionally connected to Canon with this programme, as well as Canon Masters, Canon Ambassadors and Canon Explorers are not eligible to participate. No purchase necessary to enter this programme. Entry into this programme is void where prohibited by law.
1.3 To enter the programme You must: submit a response to the four Modules (“Modules”) found on the AKTASHIF landing page according to the criteria describe in the four Briefs (“Briefs”)

1.5 The programme “Entering Period” is from Opening Date is 2nd of August 2021 to Closing Date 15th of October 2021. Entries outside of the Entering Period will not be accepted for entry to the programme. While, the entire duration of the programme is 2nd of August 2021 to 31st of January 2022. The winners of the programme will be announced in February 2022.
1.6 Canon accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, corrupt or fail to reach Canon by the Closing Date for any reason (including any problems encountered on the Instagram site, any network or computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment or software, failure of any entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet, telephone lines or at any web site, or any combination of these.)
1.7 Maximum one entry per person, during the Promotion Period. Any further entries submitted by one person will not be accepted or judged will be are ineligible to win.
1.8 By submitting Your information and entering this programme via the Canon website, you agree to the Canon website terms of use and privacy notice. If You do not agree to such terms of use and privacy notice, you cannot participate in this programme.
1.9 Canon will reject any entry which fails to meet the entry requirements under Clause 1.4 (i)-(ii) above and any entry which, in Canon’s reasonable opinion: (i) contains any content that is offensive or could reflect negatively on the name, reputation, or goodwill of Canon or any brand partner; (ii) includes trademarks, logos, or copyright material not owned by you or used without the rights owner's prior written permission (including famous names, company names, etc.); (iii) defames, misrepresents, or insults other people or companies, including, but not limited to Canon (including its partners); or (iv) promotes any political agenda.
1.10 During the Programme Duration or at any time thereafter, You may be required to provide original and/or raw data file(s) of Your Image to Canon. Canon shall contact You via Your personal Instagram or Facebook account to request the relevant file(s).
2. SELECTION PROCESS
2.1 The winners of this programme will be selected by a panel of judges including a Canon representative. The criteria for selection will be based on the creativity, quality, feasibility, professionalism and originality of submissions. Judging and selection will be made at the sole discretion of judges selected by Canon.
2.2 The winners of the programme will be notified within 2 (two) weeks of the programme closing date via contact information included on their submission form. In the event that the winners’ selection is delayed due to a technical failure or any other reason, Canon shall conduct the programme as soon as it is reasonably practicable to do so and accepts no liability for any such delay. The judges’ decision is final and no discussion or correspondence will be entered into by Canon.
2.3 The Winners are required to confirm acceptance of the Prize (as defined below) within 5 (five) days after they have been notified of winning the programme by Canon. If the Prize is not accepted by the Winners within this time, or if the chosen winners are not able to take the prize as stated Canon may withdraw the offer and reallocate the prize to the next best entry.
3. PRIZE
3.1 The winner of the programme (the “Grand Winner”) will receive a 15,000 UAE Dirham cash prize, 10,000 UAE Dirham worth of Canon equipment (as calculated by MSRP) and subscription to a regional business incubator. Additionally, Top 30 winners will be selected of which 10 winners with the best submissions will be awarded an internship with Canon Aktashif Partners and will have their new creative businesses featured and promoted across Canon’s social media channels; remaining 20 winners will receive the Canon EOS M50 mirrorless camera each. The winner of Production Recognition Award and Female Entrepreneurship Award will receive business incubator support and 10,000 UAE Dirham worth of Canon equipment’s (as calculated by MSRP) each.
3.2 The prize is subject to the fulfilment restrictions and parameters of Bon Education agency and in no event will Canon be liable if the Winners refused flights or accommodation (the “Prize”)for any reason.
3.5 The Prize is strictly non-transferable. Absolutely no cash or other prize alternatives are available in whole or in part save that in the event that the specified prize is not available for any reason, Canon has the right to provide an equivalent prize of equal or higher specification and/or value.
3.6 The Winners are responsible for any obligations related to their winning as may be applicable. The Winners may be requested to submit written, photographic and or audio visual materials relating to the Prize as reasonably required by Canon.
3.7 The Winners hereby agrees to participate in post event publicity and to the use of their name and likeness in such publicity as may be reasonably required by Canon.
4. WARRANTIES
4.1 By entering this programme, You hereby confirm that Your Submission is wholly-owned by You and nothing in the Your Submission infringes copyright or any right of any third party. You hereby hold Canon harmless from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with Canon’s use of Your Submission, including, but not limited to claims related to copyright or trade mark infringement, infringement of privacy or publicity rights, defamation, infringement of moral rights and any other personal and or property rights whatsoever in any jurisdiction.
4.2 By entering this programme, You also hereby confirm that You have obtained written permission from anyone who features in Your Submission (or the person’s parent or legal guardian, if the individual is aged under 18) to submit the Image as part of your entry into the programme, prior to entry.
5. LICENCE
By entering this programme, You hereby grant to Canon a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferrable license to use, edit, publish, translate, modify, adapt, make available and distribute Your Submission, , throughout the world in any media now known or hereafter invented for any purpose. You undertake to complete any necessary documentation to formalise the license upon Canon’s request and at Canon’s sole expense.
6. DATA and PRIVACY
6.1 Canon Middle East is the Data Controller for the purpose of the UAE Data Protection Act as may be amended, modified or replaced from time to time in respect of any personal data supplied by You. Any personal data submitted to us will be proceeded by this programme and, if applicable, for marketing purposes by Canon and its subsidiaries only – in cases when You have opted-in to receive marketing communication from Canon. The personal data provided is held securely and may be transferred on a secure server outside Middle East.
6.2 The personal data collected from You are subject to the Canon Consumer Data Privacy Policy

6.3 The personal data provided by you may be (i) held and used by Canon’s agents and third party suppliers for the purposes of administering the programme only; and (ii) the Winner’s name and contact details will be provided to Canon’s third party suppliers (including Bone education ) only to the extent that it is required for the fulfilment and or delivery of the Prize and shall be promptly removed from all third party servers upon completion of the Prize. By entering this programme and submitting personal data, You hereby consent to your personal data being stored and or processed for the aforesaid purposes.
7. DISCLAIMER
7.1 Canon shall not be liable for any failure to meet these Terms and Conditions where such failure is caused by any supervening circumstances amounting to force majeure. Such circumstances shall include, but shall not be limited, to severe weather conditions, fire, flood, war, earthquake, riots, industrial dispute, terrorism, any pandemic situation acts of God, or such events that impact supply of any product to be awarded as a prize or, events that, without fault of either party hereto, render performance impossible or incapable of satisfactory execution.
7.2 Canon cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss or injury suffered by any entrant entering the Promotion or as a result of accepting or participating in any prize. Nothing shall exclude Canon’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.
7.3 By entering into the programme, You agree to release and hold Canon harmless from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the programme or receipt or use of the prize.
8. GENERAL
8.1 Owing to exceptional circumstances outside its reasonable control and only where circumstances make this unavoidable, Canon reserves the right to cancel or amend the programme or these Terms at any stage but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to You in order to avoid undue disappointment.
8.2 As you are a consumer, the Laws of Your country of residence will apply to this programme, and You may be entitled to bring court proceedings in Your own language and in Your local courts. A local consumer advice organization will be able to advise You of Your rights. These Terms do not restrict any statutory rights that may be applicable. If You are not a consumer according to Your local Laws, the Laws of United Arab Emirates will apply to this programme and the parties hereto agree to exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of United Arab Emirates.
