Building a career in the creative industry can be daunting. But all that matters at the end of the day is to take the first step. One such inspiring story is of Richard Galapate, a 19-year-old university student who works as a part time graphics editor, who dared to dream big and take the first step towards building his dream career in photography and videography. Prior to Canon’s AKTASHIF programme, Richard was interning within his university’s media division, managing their social media and creative photoshoots, video advertisements, and more. He would occasionally participate in paid event photoshoots and videography projects. After successfully completing the programme, Richard has worked with several brands and influencers, which has further helped him hone his skills and build his creative profile.
‘The first step’ – what is it? It’s Canon’s AKTASHIF programme. A platform curated to transform the creative passion of the youth into a fulfilling career option and build future leaders.
