Canon On The Road is an activation which looks to partner with schools across United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), and Lebanon with the aim of reaching a group of students aged between 11 and 14 years for a maximum of 3 hours on an engaging journey with Canon and our offerings in a workshop specifically designed to see beyond a photo and educate them on what goes into creating a good imagery.
This activation aligns with our initiative called the Young People Programme, which seeks to contribute towards the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Programme will help the generation of tomorrow harness the power of positive visual storytelling to drive change. By providing the right tools and coaching, we’re helping to bring their stories to life and are committed to making sure their voices are heard.
Canon Academy Junior will highlight the art of photography through a storytelling approach whereby the students will learn how to take their own photo and create a social media story using their own imagination and creativity for the visuals and caption.
As well as creating a story for their photo, students will learn how to be safe online while using social media tools, with an emphasis on sharing content in a secured manner and quelling any instances of bullying.
Using Canons printing technologies students will bring the images they shot during the Canon Academy Junior session to life. Allowing them to create a project that is entirely developed using their own imagination.
The roadshow will finish with an emphasis on the current state of our environment, how to print responsibly, the importance of eco-certification, recycling and reusing printing products, and why waste segregation is important for the recycling process as it feeds into the shift toward a sustainable circular economy.
Our teams come in and set up all 4 zones before hosting the activity with some of our most knowledgeable tutors. We require a minimum indoor space of 100sqm an auditorium or similar is the ideal space. We just kindly ask for the space to be safe and secure with access to power supply.
