It’s time to get creative!

CHOOSE YOUR FOCUS

Have you ever wondered how to achieve frozen or blurred motion? Or how to capture the sun’s rays, or a starry night sky? Canon cameras help you to capture the world in the way you always wanted.

The focus you get on a Canon camera gives you the creative freedom to improve quality and look more professional. There are two key things you need to bear in mind – depth of field (controlled by the aperture) and motion (controlled by the shutter speed).

1.
Depth of field refers to how much of your image is in focus. For food lovers and parents wanting to photograph their children, a shallow depth of field makes your subject matter pop, by making the background blurred. This is achieved with a lower aperture. When capturing scenes that are filled with detail, such as landscapes and cityscapes, a higher aperture brings everything into focus.

2.
Cameras also give you the freedom to get creative with motion by playing with the shutter speed. The faster the shutter speed, the quicker the camera will snap an image, which makes it perfect for freeze-framing movement, like running children or a waterfall. Slower shutter speeds capture all of the movement in a single snap, which is how you get a blurring effect. A tripod can help here too!

And that’s all you need to know! Of course, the most fun way to learn is simply to start snapping away with your camera. It’s also the best approach for quickly understanding how these two factors (depth of field and shutter speed) help you to achieve amazing results in every situation.

GOOD LUCK!
