This ET-78B lens hood prevents flare and ghosting, caused by stray light entering the lens. It’s designed to fit the EF 70-200mm f/4L USM II lens, and is particularly useful when shooting into the light. The lens hood also helps to protect the lens’s front element from accidental damage.
