The University of Maastricht School of Business and Economics needed to process its 6,400 annual applications faster, to speed up admissions and ease the staff workload. Its paper-heavy, manual enrolment system also led to errors, and didn’t allow management to monitor cases’ status or the time the process was taking.
We developed an automated admissions system that collates each applicant’s information in a single digital case file, for easy access. As well as real-time monitoring, the system offers error reporting features, such as automated missing information requests and deadline notifications.
As well as easing the staff workload, faster admissions led to annual savings of €30,000 – not including those made by reducing human errors. Better reporting also helped management to take full control of the admissions process, so it could improve the quality of its student intake.
